Happy New Year!
On behalf of the teachers and staff, I would like to wish all SHS families a Happy New Year! We have lots to be thankful for and we look forward to serving the students and community in 2021!
Week of 1/11
As we transition back into our hybrid schedule, just a few reminders. We will move back to our hybrid bell schedule starting Monday. Next week is an A week so A-K will be in on Monday, January 11. Here is the link to the bell schedule for our hybrid schedule.
Students will still need to present a ticket when entering the school building each morning. The link to the ticket is here. Tickets can also be found in English classes.
Semester One Almost Complete
The 2nd Quarter ends on January 29. This marks the end of the first semester. Semester 2 classes will begin February 1.
Picture retakes have been rescheduled. A new date will be announced soon. School pictures will be delivered to advisories next week.
COVID Testing for Students
Students will have the opportunity to get COVID tested at school if they are asymptomatic and have not had COVID in the last 90 days. Testing will take place in the auditorium from 12pm-2pm on Wednesday, January 13 (A-K) and Wednesday, January 20 (L-Z). If a student would like to be tested at that time they need to have a consent form signed by a parent. Copies of consent forms will also be found in English classes. The electronic version can be found here. Please see Dr. Paolucci’s latest blog and weekly report for additional information.

Stop & Shop Community Bag Program
We are so excited to share that SHS Parent Council has been selected to be a part of the Stop & Shop Community Bag Program, which is designed to make it easy for customers to contribute to their local community while supporting the environment.
For the month of January, each time a $2.50 reusable Community Bag is purchased at the Stop & Shop located at Greenville, $1 will be donated to SHS Parent Council, unless otherwise directed by the customer through the Giving Tag. This is a great way to raise awareness, support the environment and fundraise for parent council.
Real Talk. Real Life. Sex Ed for Parents & Caregivers
Virtual workshop will provide you with the tools to have open, honest, and age appropriate conversations with your children about sexuality and relationships. Flyer and registration information here.
Parent Council Calendar Fundraiser
Hello SHS Families!
Welcome 2021…a New Year with new beginnings. To say 2020 was a challenge would be an
understatement. We know that only brighter days are ahead with the fresh start of this most
anticipated New Year.
With the new year comes a renewed spirit within the Parent Council. We are planning our first
fundraiser of the 2020 – 2021 school year. The fundraiser, a calendar raffle, will help to raise
much needed funds for both the Parent Council and a celebration of our 2021 Seniors.
Here are the details…
Parent Council will be holding a calendar raffle which will run from January 15th, 2021 through
January 29th, 2021. The cost of each raffle calendar will be $15. Payment for the raffle can be
made by check, mailed to or dropped off at SHS, or online using our CheddarUp account SHS
Winter Wonder Calendar Raffle. A PDF of the calendar will be emailed to everyone that
purchases one. The winners will be notified via email and the prizes will be available for pickup
Thank you so very much for your continued support of the Parent Council. Our mission of
championing our SHS community is now more important than ever before and we could not do it
without the help of every one of you. If you have any questions regarding Parent Council or the
fundraiser, please reach out to Amy Antunes at (401) 261-1826 or by email at
Our best to you for the New Year…2021, the best IS yet to come!
