Summer learning has been posted on the website. Please note that some components are due by August 15th.

All Course Network

The 2022-23 All Course Network (ACN) registration is now open! ACN is a statewide course catalog that lets students take free courses at colleges, schools, or online. Visit https://enrollri.org/acn for more information.

Freshmen Orientation

Freshmen Orientation- Student Information

SHS is excited to welcome the Class of 2026!  We are hosting a mandatory freshman orientation on August 23rd and August 24th.  This event will help students transition to high school, socialize with other ninth graders, and become acclimated to the campus.  Students will receive their schedule, meet their freshmen mentors, tour the building, receive chromebooks and enjoy lunch with their friends.  Returning students must bring their current Chromebook, charger, and bag in order to receive a new one.  Students are only required to attend one session. Freshmen Orientation – Parent Information 

SHS will host a VIRTUAL orientation session for parents and students on Wednesday, August 24 from 6:30-8:00 pm.  A link will be shared closer to the event.  

Transfer Orientation & Information

Transfer Student Information & Orientation

• Transfer students should contact Lois Papa (lpapa@smithfield-ps.org) to schedule a meeting with a school counselor for August 25 or 26 to complete course selections.  
• Transfer students are invited to attend an orientation session on August 24th at noon.  This orientation will run concurrently with freshmen orientation.  Transfer students will have lunch, learn about SHS, meet with administrators, and have a tour of the building.  
• Transfer student Chromebooks will NOT be available until the start of school.

Fall Athletic Registration

Fall athletic registration is now open.  Please complete registrations by August 8th. 

FALL START DATES:
Cheerleading – July 26th 
Football – Aug 15th
B/G Soccer, B/G Cross Country, G Tennis, Field Hockey – Aug 22nd 
Unified Volleyball – start of school year

SHS secretary will be available to notarize Assumption of Risk Forms M/T and TH/F throughout the summer from 8am-12pm in the SHS main office.  It is best to call ahead as schedules can vary for the secretarial staff – (401) 949 2050.

Once registration is submitted and confirmed parents will receive an email confirming their student athletes are set for the fall season.  If any requirements are missing the Athletic Director will follow up with additional guidance.

Class of 2023 Senior Photos

Attention Class of 2023 Parents & Students – Senior photos begin soon. Please watch this video for all of the details. Be sure to save all correspondence from Lifetouch as they have access codes they may need to book portrait sessions.

Class of 2023 Vaccines & Physicals

Important Message to Parents with Students Entering 12th Grade 
All students entering their senior year, 2022-2023, are required to have:

Meningitis Booster Vaccine 
Physical Exam on or after their 16th birthday.

22/23 Parking Information

Parking pass information and sign-ups will be released soon. Seniors have the first opportunity to secure a parking spot. Seniors must have a completed and VERIFIED portfolio to be eligible for a parking pass. Seniors are strongly encouraged to email Dr. Amodie when the portfolio is complete. Junior parking registration will be opened the last week of August. Juniors with excessive tardies or absences will not be eligible for a parking pass.
